Loulé Criativo opens its doors to the community with a programme dedicated to creativity and local knowledge
From 25 September to 6 October, the Municipality of Loulé celebrates World Tourism Day
<br/>On 25 September, Loulé Municipal Council, the Algarve Tourism Region and the Algarve Region Coordination Committee will sign a memorandum of understanding between Algarve Tourism and Loulé’s bid to become the Portuguese Capital of Culture 2028.
<br/>From 26 September to 6 October, Loulé Criativo is organising Open Days, inviting residents and visitors to get to know the venues, creators, partners, craftspeople and skills that form part of the project.
Exhibition "Made Heads - New Expressions in Artisanal Practices"
Starting from the memory of the cabeçudo — the papier-mâché mask that marked the Loulé Shrovetide — about 50 local creators were challenged to transform the lid of a pot with a classic silhouette into a piece of free expression, where the utilitarian function gives way to narrative, experimentation and the identity of each author.

Exhibition "Aligned by the Same Wool" - The National Society of Fine Arts
The result of the homonymous artistic residency promoted by Loulé Criativo, a project of the Municipality of Loulé, Aligned by the Same Wool brings together works by seven artists. Over several months, they followed the complete cycle of the wool of the Churra Algarvia sheep — from shearing to spinning — transforming an ancestral raw material into a set of works that crosses contemporary creation, heritage and territory.

From the 18th to the 24th of May, Loulé Criativo will be present at the Algarve Design Meeting 2026 with a selection of projects developed in Loulé over the last two years, reflecting the diversity, innovation and growth of a creative community in constant transformation.

Ceramics Exhibition “Traces of Memory ” by Catarina Gonçalves, on display at the Gama Lobo Palace through July 4
“Traces of Memory” by Catarina Gonçalves, opens on April 30 at the Gama Lobo Palace.
The artist explores clay as a sensitive medium in which memories, silences, and transformations are inscribed.
Between erosion and geometry, the pieces reveal a dialogue between fragility and permanence.
On view from May 2 to July 4, the exhibition invites reflection on time and what we leave behind of ourselves in the form of shape.

Loulé Criativo Launches the “Entre Nós” Macramé Club at the Textile Studio
The Macramé Club – “Entre Nós,” organized by Loulé Criativo, is a gathering and creative space dedicated to handicrafts. With biweekly sessions at the Textile Workshop, it promotes sharing, learning, and the creation of pieces in a relaxed atmosphere. Open to everyone, no prior experience is required.
